HV has zero tolerance policy for any inflammatory, discriminatory, and demeaning behavior. Any negative interactions at the event before, during, or after the event will result in immediate disqualification and removal from event or placement status.

Inflammatory or Demeaning behavior includes (but not limited to) shameful/hateful speech, inciting verbal or physical harm towards others, bullying or othering type behaviors, or rumor spreading to make other performers/participants be seen in an unfavorable light.

Discrimination includes (but is not limited to) whoreophobia, fatphobia, sexism, racism, xenophobia, ableism, or any other type behavior that reinforces the marginalization or othering of individuals.

Any and all application fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

HV will not be liable for any expenses incurred by the competitor’s participation in the competition.

All judges, performers, competitors, and volunteers are encouraged to purchase dance insurance to cover any personal injuries while in attendance of Haute Velour.

All workshop instructors are required to purchase dance insurance to teach.

HV is not liable for any injury or damage incurred by performers, judges, or competitors during both events (the show & competition).

HV reserves the right to pursue damages that performers incur during the events. Damages can be due to the venue or HV property.

HV reserves the right to preemptively stop, disqualify, or modify segments of a performance to prevent physical harm or injury to self or others.

HV reserves the right to deduct or disqualify competitors who breach the rules, regulations, or requirements of the competition.

HV reserves the right to prevent performers or competitors from performing if they are injured or under the influence of legal or illegal substances that inhibit their ability to perform safely.

HV reserves the right to make changes or modifications to the rules, regulations, terms and conditions of both events. Competitors, judges, and performers will be given advance notice in writing of any changes. Changes will take effect from the date of notification, and will be sent via email, vm, or in-person.

HV are committed to the highest standards of health and safety during both events. HV will have staff on hand to ensure the venue, spacing & pole are safe.

HV will be using the venue’s elevated stage, permanent floor, and one ceiling pole during the live final and cannot be responsible for any damage to property, injury to persons or third parties during the use of this product.

HV will not be liable to any competitor for any loss or expense whether direct or indirect suffered by the competitor resulting from a breach of HV terms and conditions.

Titles for the winners of HV will be held and sent after the completion of the competition.

In the event of a breach of contract by HV, the remedies of the competitor shall be limited to damages not exceeding the price of the application fee.

HV may consult, sub-contract, license, all or any part of its rights and obligations without the competitors/performers consent.
