SOFT CARNAL

Evocative, Seductive Tease, Performative pleasure

Soft carnal performers should emphasize the art of seduction & tease.

For this category embodying the energy of performative pleasure is more important than audaciousness and technique.

*Use of the pole as an apparatus is not required in this category.
heels are required for this category.

  • Romantic to steamy, succulent tease — think sexually suggestive but not overly audacious.

  • The ability to break the 4th wall, eye contact, and physical & energetic interaction with audience members.

  • Costuming, staging, music choice

  • Active utilization of the venue’s stage space, the pole and space off of the stage.

  • Musicality, dance sequences and fluidity. Technique is not prioritized.

    Extra points will be considered to those with a clear and concise concept.

HARD CARNAL

Provocative, Unrelenting Sex-Appeal, Spectacle of Entertainment

hard Carnal performers should emphasize the art of sexualization, provocation, and excitement.
For this category, technique is not as important as the ability to show a spectacle of sex-appeal.

*Use of the pole as an apparatus is not required in this category.

  • Sexually stunning to sexually explicit. Think UNAPOLOGETIC — clutch yo pearls.

  • The ability to break the 4th wall, eye contact, and physical & energetic interaction with audience members.

  • Costuming, staging, music choice

  • Active utilization of the venue’s stage space, the pole and space off of the stage.

  • Musicality, dance sequences and fluidity. Technique is not prioritized.

    Extra points will be considered to those with a clear and concise concept.

EXPERIMENTAL

Exploration, Intentional Presence, Technique

Experimental performers should exhibit movement techniques that integrate & innovate upon traditional definitions of dance. For this category, The performance must be predominantly in LOW FLOW (60%).

*Use of the pole & HEEL WORK ARE required in this category LOW FLOW (STANDING VARIATIONS) AT 60%, BASEWORK AT 20%, FLOORWORK 20%.

  • Musicality, innovative dance, heel work, sequences, and fluidity.

  • Active utilization of the venue’s stage space, the pole and space off of the stage

  • Ability to command the attention of the audience.

EMBODIMENT

Presence , Self-initiated Pleasure, Falling into “Flow States”, Soft to Hardcore Sensuality

embodied performers should synthesize and trANSMIT the expression of presence. For this category, the audiences gaze is not as important as the ability to be aware of what you’re experiencing, and turn that energy up.

  • Participants will explore the unapologetic exploration of being in a moment.

    Inhabiting sensations & emotions, and fully expressing it, is a core theme of the Embodied category. Participants who connect to the Embodied give body to the spirit of agency and expression of self.

  • The ability to be aware & command the attention of self (first), as well as the audience. Breaking the fourth wall (for this category) is not required, but encouraged.

  • Costuming, staging, music, musicality, sequences/choreography, fluidity

  • The active utilization of the venue’s stage space, the pole and space off of the stage.
